Pastors Note A Note from Pastor Jim

One Nation Under God?

One nation under God! What does that mean today? Are we truly one nation under (covered by) God or are we one nation under (with less God then we need) God.
I am afraid that the latter is true, to a large extent. We have become a nation that has removed God from our public life, any mention of God is considered narrow minded and bigoted. When and where God is not made welcome, He tends to leave on to men to care for themselves, always to their destruction.
As Americans, can we still claim that we’re one nation under God? We’re in a crisis and it’s far greater than our financial mess, the oil spill, or natural disasters.
Our land is being polluted by the greatest destroyer there is—sin! For years it has been inching its way into our homes, schools, movies, television, and online. The list is enormous; the devastation is great. The more we remove God the more sin and it’s effects are prevalent.
But Praise God, He has given us His Word that will bring healing! “He sent His Word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions” (Psalm 107:20).
On this day when we celebrate the birth of this great nation, let us not forgot the God who guided and directed our founders, and who still desires to guide our leaders today.
Pray for our nation that once again we can say with conviction and pride that we are “One nation under (covered by) God”
